Flying sticks

Clickety clacks, clackety clicks.
That’s the sound of hurrying sticks
Knitting fast and stitching slow
Squares for blankets on the go.
Little orphans, do you know
The meaning of these politics?
Give us strength to play these tricks
With yarn and hooks and flying sticks,
That we can make a winter fix.
